William James is University Professor Emeritus (of Water Resources and Environmental Engineering) at the University of Guelph. He is also President of Computational Hydraulics International, a consulting engineering company that specializes in urban water systems design software and applications. He has published some 255 scientific papers, over 210 technical reports and some 17 technical books (including conference proceedings edited as monographs). He is organizer of a series of annual international conferences in Toronto, and is active on research committees of the American Society of Civil Engineering and of the Canadian Society of Civil Engineering. He is a Life Member and Fellow of ASCE, and a Fellow of CSCE.
