About the Campus Author Recognition Program

  • The Library will add a copy of each campus-authored book to the University of Guelph collection.
  • Honoured books will contain a bookplate indicating University of Guelph authorship. An 'electronic' book plate will be linked in the library catalogue.
  • Each year, the Chief Librarian will host a reception for all campus authors, editors and translators, and their friends and families. The event will be open to all members of the University and the local community. Authors will receive a mounted poster in honour of their publication.
  • Promotional activities will be developed to highlight the program
  • The Library will create a database of all new University of Guelph books and their authors, starting with all of the books published in 2005. This ever-evolving database will be a rich and dynamic source of information about the university community of faculty, staff, students, alumni and retirees.
  • For more information about who is eligible and the types of materials celebrated by the program, please see the Campus Author Selection Policy (PDF - 70kb).
